We asked Hathaway as catwoman, born and bred in Brooklyn, on her favourite steps you can take in the city that never sleeps.
What’s your favourite museum in Ny?
I'll just the Met (Metropolitan) because there's always something good appearing out of The Met.
As a fresh Yorker, what is the cliché concerning the city or even the people who isn't true?
I have no idea what the current clichés are. Can you throw one out?
Maybe that everyone's rude?
Yeah, really? I thought New Yorkers were relaxed! In my opinion if you know how to get round the city you'd probably escape that sort of attitude. New Yorkers are tough. New Yorkers call it because they view it. There's a directness here which i enjoy therefore i don't think from it as rude, I think of it as authentic.
Favourite bookstore? There's one downtown called Three Lives & Company Bookstore which i really, love. They have a wonderful poetry section and there is a cute area where one can sit and they'll permit you to read for around Forty-five minutes before offering you a dirty look to buy or escape.
What could be the quintessential New York film?
Taxi Driver. However always get it mistaken for Taxi, that old sitcom. They are completely different animals – the first is a very intense, dark film as well as the other a comedy, but both portray Nyc perfectly. I remember when i increased to Robert De Niro, who obviously stars in Taxi Driver, and said, “I loved Taxi!” He was very sweet about it and didn't correct me.
Favourite kid-friendly activity?
Central Park! We glance at the horses dealing with. There are so many things you can do – you won't ever exhaust activities in Ny. Also, I enjoy visit the theatre, especially right before the Tony Awards.
Most romantic devote New York?
New York is a very romantic spot to be alone. Some of my most romantic memories are when I wanted to be living in the city after i would be a young girl. I was raised in Brooklyn and that i lived in the street from a train track. If I walked to the top level in the hill, I saw the city lights [of Manhattan] throughout the night. I would look at the city and say, “That's where all my dreams live!” After i was carrying out a play in the Public Theatre, From the travelling to rehearsal the very first day and checking along with my 16-year-old self, and being [like], “We're doing the work! We've came! We did it!” To make sure that was a pretty romantic moment personally.
